Some students need to pay up for rent, tuition, and etc. Working part time gives them the money and the thought of realizing how important it is. They are also provided with the thought of handling their responsibilities very well if they work part time during college days. Indeed, working while studying can be tough to handle. It forces you to manage your time and your responsibilities. Sometimes, it makes you choose between the two. Students today tend to sacrifice their time for social life to earn some extra spending cash. They end up being way too busy to have a social life. Thus, they will be late or missing their class. Definition of Part Time Job Literally, part time is described as something which involves less than a normal or standard time. From this basis, we can now state that a part time work is a work which does not require you working full time. Basically, a part time job refers to an employment position wherein fewer hours per week are put into work by an individual than the regular full time job. Most people who work part time jobs to gain primary income are students and elderly citizens. Low wage workers earn this type of job to supplement their primary incomes. Other workers with no full time job also seek part time jobs to gain little profit. These kinds of workers don’t generally enjoy the employment benefits and rewards that are available to full time employees. Sometimes an employer requires someone to do part time jobs in order to see what an individual is capable of his work and tasks. They try to see whether the individual is suited to work full time at their company or not. If they lasted in this sort of training presented to them by their employer then they might be asked to work full time on the said company. Most commonly, part time employment is found at fast foods, restaurants, retail store, factory, public library, universities, and call centers. If people are sort of looking for part time work in order to gain a little income, they most prefer to go to these sorts of companies. Frequents searchers of part time jobs are the students between ages 17-23. Most of them are in high school and colleges. They do part time works to have a little extra pocket money with them. Others look in order to find money for educational expenses. Many individuals also seek part-time weekend jobs to supplement their incomes or voluntarily take up such jobs which match their passions or pursuits outside of their primary employment. An individual may take on a second job to augment his income. Second jobs can be full-time or part-time positions. For all we know, part time jobs are just around us. We might have known somebody who is into this kind of work. They work in order to gain primary income or just a little money for something they want so badly. Judging from the economic status of our country, people often work even if they are in college just to finish their education. Sometimes what our parents can give us are always not enough for what we need. In order to help them around the burden, we work a little, even if that costs us our time for enjoyment and pleasure with our friends. Possible Causes of Part Time Jobs in College At this moment, students are increasingly likely to work in college. Working students can be categorized into two groups. These are the â€Å"students who work† and the â€Å"workers who study. † Almost two thirds of undergraduates consider themselves as the students who work; the other third are the workers who study. Around the economic status of our society, students tend to work their time in order to pay up for college. That is the primary cause why there are workers who study, which works full time just for them to be able to finish their education. They lack the time to enjoy a night or day out with their classmates and the time to study if their employers are not that understandable in terms of working in college. As for the students who work, well, they just work in order to gain a little profit out of it. They work part time in order to have a little money for something they want so badly. For instance, Girlie wanted this dress from a store but her allowance isn’t enough for her to be able to buy it, and she was too ashamed to ask something from her parents, she works on a public library for a few hours in a week for her to get money, gifting her dress that she always wanted. Some just work in order to gain a little cash for emergency purposes. Effects of Part Time Work in College Primarily, most of the effects of part time work while studying are not beneficial. If students tend to work while studying they end up being deficient in time to study. Most part time works require way too much hours per week, and they lose this time wherein they can engage themselves in studying for a big exam next week. Yes, they can always suggest that they can bring their tons of books to the workplace, in that way, they can study whenever there is nothing left to do. But that’s if their managers or employers allowed them to do that. Some employers are not that pitiful to students who work while studying. Sometimes they tell them to work first and the students are left in the middle wherein they are needed to choose between work and school. A burden of such might result to the student picking up work since it is more beneficial in terms of money and declining school since in order to finish education you will have to need the money. Although sometimes, the effect of part time employment for students might be good. For example, working while studying lets you earn the experience that you might need when you apply for a full time work after graduating. It could add up to your behavior at the workplace which was always needed information in terms of applying for a full time job. [pic] Figure 1. 0 Type of Work The data show the different type of work that the students have. A little of them work as dance instructor, these students who are dance instructor teaches other student and they teach outside university. The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost , Poetry Expli Essay Example For Students

The Road Not Taken? by Robert Frost , Poetry Expli Essay cation The poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost addresses the idea of decision-making and choosing what direction life will take you. The poem is about the speaker arriving at a fork in the road, where both paths are carpeted with leaves. The persona, who is believed to be Frost himself, chooses to take the road less traveled by. He tells himself that he will take the other road another day, although he knows it is unlikely that he will have the opportunity to do so. The poem concludes with the speaker satisfied by his choice in taking the road less traveled by. We will write a custom essay on The Road Not Taken? by Robert Frost , Poetry Expli specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The poem consists of four stanzas, each containing five lines. The rhyme rigid scheme is ABAAB. Then, in the last line the rhyme is broken with the word difference making the ending stand out from the rest of the poem. Each line contains four stressed syllables. Frost uses a metaphor comparing the road to life, and the fork to making decisions. The first stanza conveys a mood of change and introduces the idea of a life altering decision, which is the basis for the poem. First Frost sets the scene with his opening words, Two roads diverged (line 1). The speaker is standing at a junction in the road pondering two choices. The roads in the poem are merged where the speaker is standing but lead in two different directions signifying two different paths in life. Frost begins with the metaphorical meaning as early as the first line with his reference to yellow wood (line 1). This suggests that the setting is in the forest during Fall, which is the season of change. The second line, sorry I could not have traveled both (line 2) expresses the curiosity to explore several possibilities in life. It also forms a sense of regret at not knowing what could lie ahead on the un-chosen path and the speakers limitation to one lifetime. When Frost says, And be one traveler (line 3) it is obvious that speaker can not travel down both paths. He realizes that he needs to make a choice and pick one path over the other. The speakers procrastination and the difficulty in predicting the outcome of the decision he needs to make is shown when he, stood And looked down one as far as I could (line3-4). Both roads lead to the unknown, To where it bent in the undergrowth (line 5), as do many choices in life. This is a metaphor to our inability to predict the future, and the fact that regardless what road is chosen it will not be free of obstacles. In the second stanza the persona continues to examine both paths and ponder which road to take. In line six Frost uses the phrase, just as fair (line 6), to imply that his decision needs careful consideration because once it is made, there is no turning back. Once again, Frost points to uncertainty in the future by using the word perhaps in line seven. The speaker is judging the road from where he is standing. Frost then goes on to describe the path as grassy and wanted wear (line 8). From this line, the reader gets the impression that the persona took the road less traveled by to break away from the influence and control of society. But by making the metaphor a road Frost makes it clear that few have chosen to take the harder route through life because it is less trodden upon. Although the roads have little difference in appearance since they are worn about the same (line 10), they both lead to undeterminable futures. By the end of the second stanza, the speaker still has not made a choice about which path to take. The third stanza makes it clear that every time a choice presents itself there is a new journey or path to be traveled. This is shown in lines eleven and twelve when Frost says, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black (line 11-12). Then, with the use of, Oh, I kept the first for another day! (line 13), the speaker repeats his hesitation and .

6 Tips on Writing GMO Essay Topics

6 Tips on Writing GMO Essay TopicsAs a biochemist, I have to make the best use of the assignment and writing assignments given to me for my GMO essay topics. To give you an idea, my GMO essay topics include topics such as: antibiotic resistance, food safety, risk management, global disease, genetic engineering, genetic engineering technologies, and socio-economics. Even though I can't enumerate all the topics that I might want to cover in a GMO essay, I can share some of the topics that I would have enjoyed the most.My first GMO essay topic was about the role of gene technology in developing nation nations such as China and India. This might sound a bit odd, but it's really very important. Specifically, I would have liked to have covered how GMOs are used to improve the food safety in these nations. For instance, these new GMOs could reduce the dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In addition, if the GMOs are modified for use in the production of animal feed, the food s afety could be more stringent and thus possibly affect the national economy. My second GMO essay topics was also about genetic engineering. However, this time, I focused on the genetic engineering of livestock for commercialization purposes. To develop this topic, I found two books that were helpful in this regard. The first one was Gene Splicing by Donald Griffin and Charles Benbrook, and the other was The Ant and the Grasshopper by Richard Perrie. So, I read them both and learned more about gene technology and genetic engineering, especially as it relates to bioengineering. The next step is to do the research and review of these topics so that I can discuss each with my fellow writers.Once I have gathered my information, I can start to research and then write a helpful article or write a useful article. However, I would like to concentrate more on the topic and in doing so, I would have to have more insight in regards to other things I may have missed. As a biochemist, I know that k nowing what is already going on in the food industry would give me a clearer picture of what to expect. So, I would like to focus more on the bioengineering aspect of genetic engineering and not just the gene manipulation. It is highly advised that you always try to create articles for the genre that you are writing for. If you write and publish in a medical niche, you might want to consider writing about cancer therapy. On the other hand, if you are writing articles for a biotechnology or agriculture niche, you may want to write about food safety. Be honest and follow the common sense rules. In conclusion, if you are looking for a few GMO essay topics, I suggest that you try to find topics that relate to your areas of interest. You will be surprised how many article topics you will find that are related to you.

How to Reference an Ebook †APA style

How to Reference an Ebook – APA style How to Reference an Ebook – APA Style Time makes fools of us all, even when it comes to referencing. As such, its a good thing that the American Psychological Association (APA) has updated its style guide to catch up with the internet. For example, it now has special rules for how to cite an ebook. Find out more by reading the rest of this post! APA Referencing and Citing an Ebook APA style referencing is commonly used in the social sciences and utilizes author–date in-text citations accompanied by a reference list, ordered alphabetically, in which full bibliographic details is provided. The format required for an e-book differs slightly from that used for print books, since youll need to include a DOI or URL where it can be found online: Surname, INITIALS (Year). Title. Retrieved from URL.com In your reference list, this would appear as: Author, A. N. (1995). Future books. Retrieved from ebooks.com/archive.html In-text citations for ebooks are simple to remember, as they’re identical to those used for print books, with the author name and date of publication provided in parentheses. Additional Considerations for Citing an Ebook†¦ There are two more things to keep in mind when referencing ebooks that does not apply to printed books. The first regards dates of publication. If the ebook you’re referencing is available in print or has its own publication date, use that date. If not, use the the term â€Å"n.d.† (an abbreviation of â€Å"no date†): Ternet, I. N., Author, A. N. (n.d.). The information superhighway. Retrieved from ebooks.com/index.html The second thing to remember is that, if applicable, details about the edition or DOI of the ebook you’re citing should be included in the reference list. For example, the Kindle edition of A. N. Author’s Future Books would appear as: Author, A. N. (1995). Future books. [Kindle DX version]. Retrieved from ebooks.com/archive.html Hopefully this has clarified a few things about how to reference ebooks using APA style. Risk Management Strategies Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Risk Management Strategies - Essay Example As a result, more and more small companies are turning to a strategic approach as the way forward. Therefore, it is conclusive that risk planning has a very high significance in the risk management model, and, as secondary research shows, larger firms have more sustainability because they focus on risk planning and opportunity development. A firm's behavior in planning is also affected by the perception of its environment and size, as well as the nature of its activities, but not on the firm's performance. Although all small businesses have an amount of risk, being a new start-up restaurant and producing customer service goods adds further risk. This creates quite a bit more exposure to risks from mismanagement than in larger firms, where a major risk is that "some change will occur that will leave the enterprise beached high and dry," and "enterprises must expect to change drastically and repeatedly in response to changes in customers' wants and purchasing power, in competitors' products and prices, in available technologies, in law and in social expectations" (Goetz p 25 2001). The overall rationale to management is to answer the circumstances that develop risks. In business, the successful management strategy must be resilient in the face of failure, and develop sophisticated business plans because major chains have created competitor risk by raising the bar with strategic planning, which is a large part of their success according to Kep Sweeney (Garber p 88 2006). Sweeney further states that "The critical points in the deal making phase include identifying a new concept, forming a team, raising money and finding real estateYou can engineer out a tremendous amount of risk-and increase your chance of success-with proper planning." (Garber p 88 2006). Historic Role and Function Kerzner (p 876 1998) first identifies risk planning as "the process of developing and documenting an organized, comprehensive and interactive strategy and methods for identifying and analyzing risk issues, developing risk handling plans, and monitoring how risks have changed," to the small business owner, this means that a step by step analysis of proposed risks and their possible changes is an inherent part of risk management. Secondly, Kerzner (p 878 1998) describes risk assessment as "the process of identifying and analyzing program areas and critical technical process risks to increase the likelihood of meeting cost, performance and schedule objectives," this will assist the risk management model by answering to the critical processes that create risks and the businesses responses in those areas. The risk identification process is also shown by Kerzner (p 880 1998) as "process of examining the program areas and each critical technical process to identify and document the associat ed risk," in risk identification, the internal and external factors are described and levelled according to their significance to the program area. For example, while a flood may be a risk, that is minimal if the business currently has a leaking roof. Risk analysis "is the process of examining each identified risk issue to estimate the likelihood of

The History of Nasa Essay Example for Free

The History of Nasa Essay NASA has done many amazing things. From putting the second man in space to putting the first and second man on the moon. NASA truly has a great history. Project Mercury was the first American human spaceflight program. It’s goal was putting a human into orbit around the Earth. And they wanted to do it before the Soviet Union. Though they were not able to do that before the Soviet Union, they still put a human into orbit. Alan Shepard became the first American astronaut aboard Freedom 7. Project Mercury was the start of many great things. Project Gemini’s objective was to develop space travel skills. This would help in the Apollo missions with the goal of landing a man on the moon. Gemini missions would be able to carry two men. Gemini 3 was the first manned mission in the Gemini program. Nicknamed Molly Brown, Gemini 3 completed the 7th manned spaceflight in the United States and the 17th manned spaceflight overall. The main goal of this mission was to test the new, maneuverable Gemini spacecraft. While in space, the crew fired the thrusters to change the shape of their orbit, slightly shift their orbital plane slightly, and drop to a lower altitude. Some firsts achieved by this mission were: two people flew on an American spacecraft together, and this was the first manned reentry where the spacecraft produced enough lift to change its touchdown point. Gemini 4 was the second manned spaceflight in Project Gemini. Gemini 4 circled the earth 66 times in four days which made it the first American flight to approach the 5-day flight of the Soviet Vostok 5. Although that was great, the greatest accomplishment of this mission was when White made the first spacewalk by an American. White floated free outside the spacecraft for about 20 minutes. Both of these accomplishments helped America overcome the Soviet Union’s early lead in the Space Race. Gemini 5 was also an important mission. This was the mission where the US beat the Soviet Union’s record of 5 days for the longest amount of time spent in space on August 26, 1965. L. Gordon Cooper, Jr. and Charles Conrad, Jr. spent almost 8 days in space beating the record by over 2 days. Gemini 7 included Jim Lovell and Frank Borman On December 4, 1965 Gemini 7 blasts off for space. While they are in space, Gemini 6 is waiting by the launch pad while Gemini 7 waits in space. Some problems occur with Gemini 6 but are resolved in less than 3 days. Gemini 6 launches into space on December 15. Gemini 6 and 7 are planning to fly just inches apart from each other in formation. They fly in formation for 270 minutes, 3 orbits around  the earth. After this, Gemini 6 returns home. Gemini 7 must complete their 2 week mission and then they returned home. This was NASA’s longest mission in space at the time. On June 3rd, 1966 Gemini 9 launched into space. Gene Cernan had to test out a new jetpack but by the time he got it on he was too exhausted to fly with it. Buzz Aldrin was the next to attempt a space walk. Aldrin succeeded and spent more that 5 hours walking in space. Because of Apollo 1, America lost some good men. Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee were all killed during a simulation. There was fire due to a spark in the wire which caused oxygen to catch on fire. They were not able to get the door open fast enough and these three men were all killed. Apollo 7 then takes their mission with a redesigned and much safer capsule. Apollo 11 has to be one of the most important missions of all time. Apollo 11 included Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Colinn. Their goal was to walk on the moon and they succeeded. Neil Armstrong took the first step on the moon. 15 minutes later Buzz Aldrin became the second man on the moon. The two men spend just over two hours on the moon. With the huge goal of walking on the moon completed, NASA now needs to learn more about the moon. Apollo 12 spent about 8 hour just collecting moon rocks. They ended up collecting 75 pounds of moon rocks. NASA is testing a new shuttle. On february 18, 1977 the space shuttle takes off and lands successfully. There were 31,000 thermal tiles on the shuttle when it took off to protect it. But when it landed they discovered many tiles had fallen off. NASA must develop efficient models before they can actually use the shuttle for missions. After 4 years of testing, the shuttle is finally ready. The first shuttle mission took with it John Young and Bob Crippen. Something that everyone was worried about was that once the rocket boosters were lit, the shuttle was committed to flight. But everything was fine. On April 12, 1981 it took off, orbited the Earth 36 times and landed safely. Crista McCaliff was a social studies teacher and was going into space. On January 28, 1986 the Challenger took off for space, but it never made it.  The Challenger blew up only 73 seconds after lift-off at 67,000 feet in the air. This was the first time NASA lost astronauts in a mission. No spacecraft flew until two years later. Hubble is a super powered telescope that was put into space. Only when it got into space did they realize that it had a big problem with the mirror. Also, there were problems with the solar panels. Without those, Hubble wouldn’t work. After these problems, they sent a repair crew into space. They fixed the problems and Hubble was open for business. Next up, the International Space Station. Russia carried up the first part of the space station in November, 1998. In December the first part that NASA built goes up. The two parts connect in space. The estimated cost for the International Space Station was $170,000,000,000. On January 16, 2003 Columbia is scheduled for lift-off. They make it into space fine but what nobody knows it that something hit the craft during take-off and made a hole in the craft. This wasn’t a big problem until re-entry when the hole caused the craft to explode taking the astronaut’s lives with it. NASA has done many amazing things over the years and they will continue to do many more. These events were some of the most important things to happen in the history of spaceflight and exploration.
